Wash
your boat with fresh water after each paddle,
especially if used in salt water. |
| • |
Keep
your kayak out of the sun wherever possible
and when transporting, it’s best to
provide added protection by using a cover.
|
| • |
Don’t
tighten your straps too tightly when carrying
your kayak on a roof rack or trailer. |
| • |
A
good idea also is to put some soft foam under
the contact points between the boat and the
racks. |
| • |
Obviously
avoid hitting your boat off objects floating
in the water and getting to and from the
water. |

the time to regularly inspect all the fittings
in your boat and ensure that they are locked
in place correctly and functioning properly.
